#JoyOfReading: The Day The Crayons Quit

The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt; Pictures by Oliver Jeffers

A wonderful take on the very true plight of crayons across the world! Its original, its funny, its insightful, its educational …what more can you want while reading to your little one. I love how the story is crafted and I love how it’s so true!

My little girl immediately related it to her own set of crayons, and thought about how they must feel. We’ve committed to using Mr. White a bit more often for sure and giving Ms. Pink a break from work. A┬álovely read for all little kids and I can assure you they will want to color something after reading this. The Day the Crayons Quit is one of those books I would feel happy gifting too.

We did spend some fun time hunting for Mr. White on the cover though and agreed that perhaps because it was illustrated by the creator of lost and found, he lost a few crayons along the way on the cover.

Happy reading!
