When God Chooses You….

While we live our lives believing that we are making choices, along the way we awaken to the fact that we were already chosen.

Sometimes we don’t know what God chooses us for and why he picks us. When the times are good, enjoy it. And when the times are bad, embrace it. For God knows what we are about, He knows how we fit into His almighty plan.

Through my own experience I have found that when God chooses you for something, it’s never an easy path. Life takes you in a direction you may never have intended and you can spend a lifetime trying to head another way. No matter what you are struggling with, no matter what you are fighting against, believe; believe in the graciousness of life to take you to that place intended for you. True fulfillment comes from embracing the good times and the bad, knowing deep within that you are exactly where you need to be.

The path may not be one you chose, but your journey will determine how you arrive at the destination intended only for you. You may not have the choice to be chosen, but you do have the choice to make the journey count. #GiftTheLight

I first heard this poetry in a video by Ravi Zacharias and while its beauty was riveting, it reflected so beautifully the journey of someone chosen by God..

When God wants to drill a man,
And thrill a man,
And skill a man
When God wants to mold a man
To play the noblest part;

When He yearns with all His heart
To create so great and bold a man
That all the world shall be amazed,
Watch His methods, watch His ways!

How He ruthlessly perfects
Whom He royally elects!
How He hammers him and hurts him,
And with mighty blows converts him

Into trial shapes of clay which
Only God understands;
While his tortured heart is crying
And he lifts beseeching hands!

How He bends but never breaks
When his good He undertakes;
How He uses whom He chooses,
And which every purpose fuses him;
By every act induces him
To try His splendor out-
God knows what He’s about.
